The words were not a lie, yet they held a number of varying truths. The very thought of him accepting such abuse was something the mimic couldn’t wrap her head around, yet again she attempted to quell this disturbing image with the mantra of ‘to each their own’. Surely Rail had his reasons and she had no place to question them, regardless of how strange she thought they were. Worried for his well being…
And worried for his mentality. Had he perhaps been hit one too many times?
The girl scolded herself for even coming up with such a ridiculous notion.
“Worried? About me?”
That in itself was a little odd to the programmer– But ahh, he had to remind himself that most people didn’t show the indifference that those around him usually did. His reckless nature and his odd interests were normal in the eyes of those that dealt with him daily, and poor Copycat… Well, she hadn’t known him for very long!! Rail hummed for a moment, rubbing his chin as the studied the shorter girl. Surely, she had to be thinking something weird now… Best to distract her in that case, no?
“Well, even if I did get hurt, I’d be fine the next day…” The male mused aloud at first, though his thoughts trailed off into nothing once a thought occurred to him.
It was that thought that made the male waved a hand to gain Copycat’s attention, perhaps also to convince her to come closer.
“Oh, oh, you know what–?” Rail spoke. “We should go get some ice cream! I saw a store selling some for cheap, actually. It’s on me!!”
