I feel like Rail’s world would be a mix of both technology and magic, but they’re separated–? One half of the world is solely magic based and everything, the other is solely technology based. To the other side of the world, the thing the opposite of the world relies on is like some myth or legend.

(Though on the very farthest sides of each side of the world, there are places that are traditional and closed off from both technology AND magic.)

Then there’s the middle where they come together that incorporates them both, but no one talks about those ever.

Rail’s kingdom of Issium is on the side of the world that’s technology based, along with Ignobilis. Though, from Issium, it’s about a country (or maybe two?) away from the border where the two intersect and then into magic territory, which is probably why Rail’s parents have been to meet Miwaharu’s family when he was younger.
